Howdy;

I’m back from a 12-day swing through the northeast and boy it’s nice to be back. It’s nice to go play but it sure is nice to be back all the same.

Here’s a reminder to get your copy of DADDY (Will Kimbrough & Tommy Womack) RARE & UNRELEASED VOL. 1 while there are still copies to be had. It’s a great collection with five, count ‘em, five tracks available nowhere else. Paypal $25 to tommywomack@bellsouth.net and put RARE & UNRELEASED in the subject heading. Your record will go out in the next day’s mail first-class. (Provided you give your address, which is important.) All proceeds go to the promotion of the actual, true, real, bona fide second DADDY record, FOR A SECOND TIME, out June 16th.

I’ll be at Norm’s River Road House this coming Saturday night here in town (Nashville) so plase come on out.

God bless,

Tommy

Northeast Tour

Hi Friends;

Your help in rounding out dates for me in the northeast has been great. We’ve got a gig in Philly now. And a surprisingly cool one at that!

Here’s my northeastern tour and if you live near any of the dates – or know someone who does live nearby – please help me spread the word. Gigs where people show up are just – as a general rule – so much better than the ill-attended ones. So I appreciate you efforts in forwarding this to as many people you feel like irritating today within all our mutual glut of twittery, thittery and thattery.

This’ll be my first trip to Philly since “There, I Said It!” made the Philadelphia Inquirer’s year-end top-ten list of Americana releases for 2007. It’s about time, I do think! I’ll be on the bill with my good buddy Scott McClatchy. THIS GIG ONLY HAPPENED BECAUSE OF YOUR GOOD VIBES! It only came together yesterday (Friday). So tell your Philly area friends and I will be much obliged!

The Long Players doing “Some Girls” at the Mercy Lounge Friday was awesome. I can now say I’ve shared lead vocals with Jimmy Hall and done a gig with Tom Peterssen of Cheap Trick. In the second set, Lisa Gray joined me for “Gimme Shelter” and brought the house down. God bless the Long Players (Bill Lloyd, Steve Allen, John Cowan, John Deaderick, Steve Ebe, Jim Hoke, Dan Baird and guest bassist for last night, Tom Peterssen).

God bless you too,

Tommy

Help Fight Womackius Tourus Conundrumus!

Help Fight Womackius Tourus Conundrumus!

Greetings my faithful. It is I, Tommy Womack, asking you to please help however you can in the fight against a dreadful disease: Womackius Tourus Conundrumus! It makes eyes blink incessantly and causes long drives in a Toyota Camry.

There are no dollars for research because of its rarity, as it only attacks people named Tommy Womack. HELP ME FIGHT THIS BATTLE!

Here is a description of what Womackius Tourus Conundrumus looks like. It’s not pretty. I trust you can take it though, because you’re a fan of mine, you’re not squeamish; you can handle ugly truths like ones Jack Nicholson spat at Tom Cruise from the witness stand.

WOMACKIUS TOURUS CONUNDRUMUS
(UGLY SYMPTOMS OF THE DISEASE IN ITALICS.)

APRIL 16TH – MARYLAND GIG WITH MALCOLM HOLCOMBE POSTPONED!

APRIL 17TH – GODFREY DANIEL’S – BETHLEHEM, PA
APRIL 18TH – LANDHAVEN B & B – BARTO, PA
APRIL 19TH – APRIL 22nd.
NO GIGS. CRASHING NEAR PHILLY WITH SCOTT & LAURA MCCLATCHY AND THEIR BOY IAN WHO’S REALLY CUTE. I’M GOING TO BE ON DAN REED’S DRIVE-TIME SHOW ON WXPN WHILE I’M THERE.
APRIL 23RD – VALENTINE’S – ALBANY, NY
APRIL 24TH -
NO GIG. WOULD LOVE TO PLAY ROCHESTER BECAUSE “CAMPING ON ACID” WENT #1 ON THEIR COLLEGE STATION 20 YEARS AGO AND I’VE NEVER BEEN THERE. I WANT TO GET MY BEADS BLESSED.
APRIL 25TH – SLIPPERY ROCK FESTIVAL – SLIPPERY ROCK, PA
APRIL 26TH – RED DOOR TAVERN – COLUMBUS, OH

There is only one cure for Womackius Tourus Conundrumus. Gigs. Gigs on the way there and back, gigs to plug in holes, gig with which to make enough money to fix the dryer at home.

Here’s how you can help.

I’m looking for gigs on the way to Bethlehem the 15th and 16th, because otherwise that drive straight through from Nashville to Bethlehem will suck and I’ll be good and fried before I ever play a note on the first night! That wouldn’t be good.

I’m looking for gigs for the 19th thru 22nd. I would of course love to play Philly, and any other cool place in a reasonable driving distance, Jersey, New York, New England, Maryland, Delaware (have I left a state out?)

Lastly, I’m looking for a gig on the 27th somewhere between Columbus and home. That drive only minorly sucks, but suck is still suck.

As far as defining what a gig is. Anything is fair game!

I’ll play your favorite corner bar, your favorite coffee house, I’ll play your house, your church, your barber shop, your greenhouse, you name it. A gig is a gig. Everybody gets the same show. I’m always happy to play, wherever it is.

So if you’ve ever wanted to see me but I rarely infiltrate your neck of the woods, here’s your chance for me to entertain you in person.

Won’t you PLEASE HELP.

Send your leads on possible gigs, gig ideas and suggestions, no matter how crazy, to my manager, Mary Sack, at musicsack@comcast.net.

On other notes, sales of DADDY: RARE & UNRELEASED. VOL. 1 are going both hunky and dory! Order your copy before it’s too late at myspace.com/daddytheband, OR reverbnation.com/daddytheband. And don’t forget to sign up for reverbation emails from DADDY, so you can get DADDY updates just like this one. And I can pummel your inbox even more.

Much love, God bless and thank you for being there.
