Click here for my new video. Even as open-book as I have been artistically, there’s one incident you’ve never known about. In February 2007 I collapsed in the Hillsboro Village Shell station after two days of cocaine, no sleep, and no food. I woke up in an ambulance, was treated and released and even did a road gig one or two days later. And then, the night I got back home from the gig, I copped AGAIN. That’s the disease for you right there. This song, “I Almost Died”, from my next album NAMASTE is lyrically 100% true. It’s exactly what happened that day. I hope by including this bummer of a song on an otherwise upbeat album is that maybe it’ll help somebody in the throes of addiction and let them know that there’s a way out, as I’ve found, thank God. Two weeks after the incident in Hillsboro Village, my “There, I Said It!” record came out, I was on the cover of the Nashville Scene, the toast of the town, and almost nobody knew this had ever happened. Please help my raise the funds for my record so I can carry the message to the addict who still suffers. There IS light at the end of the tunnel, and there IS a way out. God bless, TW
